Pat Paramoure was born and raised in southern Massachusetts and came to California to attend college. In the early 1990s, she earned a degree in
anthropology from U.C. Santa Barbara and then started raising a family. In 2001, she settled in Santa Cruz with her husband and two children, and a few years later decided to return to school with the intention of starting a career in archaeology. She initiated her studies of the Cowell Lime Works as an intern for the UCSC Planning Department while a student in Cabrillo College’s Archaeological Technology Program. After graduating in 2006, she began working in the field of Cultural Resources Management (CRM) with a focus in archaeology. In 2009, she started her graduate studies at Sonoma State University, and completed her M.A. in Cultural Resources Management, with an emphasis in Historical Archaeology, in 2012, with the writing of her Thesis on the Archaeology of Cabin B at the Cowell Lime Works Historic District. Pat continues her work in CRM, is an archaeological consultant for UCSC, and teaches an undergraduate introductory archaeological field methods class at UCSC, focused on the historic district.
